Senator Ted Cruz of Texas recently introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order Act also known as the EL CHAPO act. The EL CHAPO act seeks out the use of forfeited money from Joaquin Guzman commonly known as “El Chapo,” to go towards building the U.S. border wall. El Chapo’s forfeited money is estimated to net around $14 billion dollars which could start the process of building the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border in hopes of stopping illegal drug & human trafficking.
“Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border.” – Sen. Ted Cruz
