After the University of California at Berkeley decided to rescind an invitation for conservative firebrand Ann Coulter to speak on campus, HBO’s Real Time host Bill Maher said the following about the situation.
“Berkeley, you know, used to be the cradle of free speech, and now it’s just the cradle for fucking babies.”
Coulter’s speech was canceled due to “anxiety” by school officials that protests could spin out of control the same way they did in February when former Breitbart senior editor, Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak. After scathing criticism, the school reversed its decision and will allow Coulter to speak on campus May 2nd.
Maher added, “I feel like this is the liberals’ version of book burning, and it’s got to stop.” S.E. Cupp, a panelist on Maher’s show Friday, said “liberals are creating a fantasy land on college campuses that do not exist in the real world,” watch below.
