Pepsi and Kendall Jenner were dealt harsh criticism on social media Tuesday, after premiering a new ad-campaign that exploits the backdrop of anti-Trump stylized protests to promote the Pepsi soda brand.
In the ad Jenner is depicted walking through the protest and handing a police officer a can of Pepsi. The advertisement spurred widespread backlash online mainly on Twitter and Youtube, particularly social justice activists, making #Pepsi the number 1 Twitter hashtag on Tuesday.
Only when politically charged protests are popular Pepsi deems making an ad around the subject necessary to rake in a few extra bucks, after all Pepsi is a business. Watch the ad below.
